To be or Not to BE that is the...?

Don't worry I'm not going to start quoting Shakespeare. Although if I get a couple requests. I just might. Just maybe.
I'm in L.A. right now & maybe that's why. I managed to live here for over 4 years and not do it. But I'm older now.wiser now. married now. a mommy now (Zoe).

Drum roll please...............I want a tattoo! My family is anti- tattoo I come from a conservative. BUT fun family but a line is drawn somewhere... & that's at tattoo.
"A classy lady does not have that"
 "Your going to regret it"
Will I really??? It's nothing a pair of hottt tights can't cover..LOL
The debate in my head continues...I want one on my foot. Nothing huge nothing tacky. something sweet and girly...
Not like this. this pix. is small and well...on a foot.
    What should I do?

I like that one with the stars, too cute! My cousin has that same exact one, and each star represents her 3 sisters :)

Oh goodness...such a dilemma. I'm a fan of meaningful, one-of-a-kind, small tattoos and you could definitely pull one off! I understand the family perspective BUT what does Jason think? He's going to be the one looking at it forever :)

that's a toughie, my first instinct is "go for it, it's what makes you happy"! But at the same time, you have to think long term (for obvious reasons). I've always wanted one too, and the ONLY reason I haven't is because of Alia. I don't want her to get the idea in her head that what's ok for me is ok for her. It's a gray area, just think long and hard about it :)

Karla,
I'm with your folks. Just picture yourself at 65 with a saggy- baggy tatoo (alright, your foot may not sag too much). But think of all the little kids laughing and pointing - or my grandkids wanting to know why their mom did such a thing.... Ok, I'll stop. You know I'll love you anyway (even if I never look at your foot again).

I say don't do it! Your foot won't sag too much but you will probably look at it when you are 75 and wonder what you ever did it for. And yes, think of your children, will it be ok for them? Not to mention it hurts, why go through that pain and I'm sure the dye in your body is not good for you. I say the same thing as your fam, classy ladies don't have tatoos, even ones they can cover up.

I'm all for tats.. but I always recommend this rule. Once you have one picked out, think about it for 1 year. If you still want the same exact tattoo, go for it. This will save you the hassles of "Why did I get that.." and make sure it isn't something trendy. :)

Wow. This has become a mix of opinions...Thank you for your comments. They are all different.

Not sure what to say honestly. I think there is not a right or wrong in this matter. It's simply a preference like anything else. I won't go into saying "I can get it taken off or..."

To say that a woman is not classy because of one...? I find that a bit old school & I highly disagree.

A woman is classy by other forms of definition. Again I rather not get into it to start a debate thats not what this post was ment to be. I did not think it would stir such mixed reviews...BUT that's ok everyone has an opinion that can and should be heard.
I care about you all.
BOTTOM LINE: Beauty is in the sight of the beholder!!!

Don't do it! If you want start on your foot get a Henna kit and put them on whenever you want. I am with your parents on this one...research where tattos first started:)

I think if you want to do it then go for it. :)
It's your life and you are the one that has to live with the decisions you make.

And for those that say classy ladies dont have tattoos, I say that class is determined more on how you present and cary yourself rather than if you have a small tattoo on your foot or not. There are plenty of people with tattoos that are classy and plenty of people who lack tattoos and don't have an once of class to their name.

I think when you are 70, the least of your worries is going to be the tattoo on your foot!! You'll look at your tattoo and think, I was once young and frees pirited, now Im old and in a rocking chair!!
